What to expect at Simply Fertility’s IVF clinic

Visit us at Simply Fertility and you can receive an assessment of your fertility status, which doesn’t even require a GP referral. You can also choose from a broad spectrum of services according to your unique circumstances.

We will conduct a series of simple yet thorough tests in order to highlight the issues you might be experiencing. One of our fertility specialists can then review your results and discuss the options available to you.

To make things as easy as possible, the tests and review both take place onsite. What’s more, this only requires two appointments, which can be arranged around your schedule.

How the treatment works at Simply Fertility’s IVF clinic

IVF (In-Vitro Fertilisation) will combine your sperm and eggs (or cells if using a donor) in a petri dish. This will then be placed in a laboratory incubator to fertilise for two-to-five days. After this time, one or two of the resulting embryos are removed and transferred to the women’s uterus in the hope they will implant and develop like a normal pregnancy.

One of the reasons why some women pursue IVF treatment is because of absent or damaged fallopian tubes. However, other grounds for treatment can include endometriosis, unexplained female infertility, and male infertility.

Even though IVF is typically used by men and women who can’t conceive naturally but want to start a family, it can also be of assistance to single women and same-sex couples as well.

IVF treatment protocols

  • Long Protocol IVF – This protocol suppresses the patient’s hormones in order to control ovulation. We do this by using medication known as agonists in a process called down-regulation. The patient will also require injections at a later date for stimulation of the ovaries to produce follicles, which contain mature eggs.
  • Short Protocol IVF – This protocol does not involve the use of tablets, which is preferential among many patients. However, it might not be suitable for you and will require discussion with one of our fertility specialists.
  • Antagonist (mild) IVF – This protocol also uses injections but over a shorter period of time. It is tailored to the individual and can afford several advantages including minimising discomfort, bringing down medication costs, and reducing the risk of hyperstimulation.
