What do fertility journeys look like?

  • IVF – The most common fertility treatment is IVF (In-Vitro Fertilisation). This involves the fertilisation of eggs with sperm in a laboratory incubator. Regardless of whether its your first time or you’re trying again, a typical IVF journey can also be called a ‘stimulated cycle,’ because it involves taking drugs that stimulate your body for the collection of eggs.
  • Donor or frozen embryo treatments – You might be returning for treatment using your own frozen embryos, from previous cycles, placed back into your womb. As opposed to IVF, this treatment does not require drugs and is known as an un-stimulated cycle. However, the journey is still very similar to IVF.
  • Other treatment types – Alternative treatments include surrogacy, fertility preservation, egg freezing, help from donors, surgery, or embarking on a natural cycle to try to have a child. This will be largely dependent on your individual circumstances, which we can talk through at our clinic.
