Typically journeys at our fertility clinic Epping

  • IVF – In-Vitro Fertilisation is the most common type of fertility treatment. Eggs and sperm are combined in a petri dish before being placed in a laboratory incubator for up to five days. One or two of the resulting embryos are transferred to the woman’s uterus through the cervix with the hope they will develop as normal. With IVF, you take drugs to stimulate your cycle.
  • ICSI – With conventional IVF, at least 100,000 sperm must be placed in each egg to have a realistic chance of achieving fertilisation. However, ICSI involves the injection of a single sperm directly into each egg. The treatment leading up to and after ICSI is identical to the conventional IVF cycle. ICSI is appropriate for couples where the man has low numbers of normal, motile sperm.
  • Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET) – Spare embryos from your IVF treatment can be frozen for future use, depending on their quality. Frozen cycles are necessary for those wishing to use their previously stored embryos.
  • Other journeys – These include surrogacy, fertility preservation, egg freezing, help from donors, surgery, or embarking on a natural cycle to try to have a child.
